Hi everybody, as you will have seen the track has had a thick layer of lime put over it. As some of you noted in another post it rides like a sand dune......... this is because it has not been compacted properly. it is being compacted today and tommorrow with a twin drum roller. after this initial compaction it is vital that you stay off it for at least one week to allow it to settle properly. if you ride it over the weekend it will still be relatively soft and will rut out badly.. so for everyones sake PLEASE STAY OFF THE TRACK untill at least next weekend. later next week we will assess it and compact again if necersary. I'm committed to getting this stage done right as it will hav a huge impact on wether the track rides nicely or is a lumpy dog, but I seriously need your help, so once again- PLEASE STAY OFF THE TRACK!!!!
while the digger was onsite this morning they did a little bit of work moving some of the dirt around the jump line, theres still a fair bit of spade and rake work to get them rideable, but all the hard diggings done!!!!! I know where I'd be this weekend if I didn't have kids, and lived in tawa!!!! hopefully the lime will survive the week unridden. next time we get a decent rain it will get compacted again. so dont be too upset if its not hard by next weekend. it will get there......
The track has been recompacted again today. again it needs to be left unridden, preferably untill the weekend. there is more rain forecast for later this week which will help alot with the lime hardening, especially if it does not get cut up by people riding it.. fingers crossed..
